The quiet country lanes and picturesque monuments make Hue an ideal place for cycling. This tour is a mix of less visited routes and must see sites: let you wander through this city of galleries of Vietnam’s history and then explore the other side of Hue, the less touristic one to explore rural life and country lanes. The tile-roofed Thanh Toan Bridge is not only an ancient architectural remain with highly historic and cultural values but also a tourist attraction. In many guidebooks, the bridge is referred to as the “Japanese Bridge” since it bears some stylistic resemblance to another small wooden bridge in nearby Hoian. On the way to the bridge, we will go through the countryside of peaceful villages. You can get chances to take pictures of buffalos, cows and farmers in the rice field, and to taste local food.
In the morning: Spend 2 hours and a half to visit the Hue Citadel and Imperial City. Then board on dragon boat for a cruise upstream the legendary Perfume River.
Along the way, we stop for Thien Mu Pagoda and then continue to Tu Duc Tomb & Khai Dinh Tomb.
Enjoy lunch with specialties at a local garden restaurant (note: this half day we go by car & boat). In mid-afternoon leave the center of Hue and its historic buildings for a bicycle ride through the bucolic Vietnamese countryside to the Thanh Toan Village, located 8 km away, to visit 200 - year - old Thanh Toan Tile - Roofed Bridge.
Continue riding along the river bank dotted with temples. Upon you arriving back in Hue Ciity, tour ends.
