At the complex, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the nation’s founder’s body is preserved (closed on Monday, Friday and through October – November, we will revise the itinerary to avoid Mon and Fri), the colonial Presidential Palace, originally the French Governor Office and a fine example of French architecture in Hanoi, and the rural style Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Stop by one of Hanoi’s icons, the One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th Century in dedication to Buddha of Compassion and reminiscent of a lotus blossom rising from a pond.
The next stop is Temple of Literature - the first university in Vietnam, where preserves the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage: the Garden of the Stelae.
From there, we continue the walking tour of vibrant Hanoi Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, the focal point of the city. Our guide will tell you about the legend of the lake and how it become one of the must-see places in Hanoi for both domestic and international tourists.
Hanoi Old Quarter has a long history of 2000 years of development which is the beating heart of the city. In here, bustling life of Hanoians is reflected in the most vivid way with crowded streets of people trading with each other. The quarter consists mainly of 36 Old Streets divided and named according to their craft guides in the past, and remain most of that working system until now.
